Setting Standards for Professional Development

LegalCPD is the independent accreditation body for continuing professional development in enforcement, credit management, and civil litigation across England and Wales.

LegalCPD is currently working with selected pre-approved providers only.

What LegalCPD Does

Accreditation Separate from Delivery

LegalCPD does not deliver training, produce course materials, or employ trainers. The accreditation function is structurally separate from training delivery, ensuring objective and independent quality assessment.

Step 1

Training Provider

Develops and delivers the CPD activity

Step 2

LegalCPD

Independently assesses against published criteria

Step 3

Professional

Receives accredited certificate with CPD hours

Step 4

Employer / Regulator

Accepts verified, quality-assured CPD record

How Accreditation Works

01

Application

The training provider submits an application with supporting materials including course outlines, learning objectives, assessment methods, and trainer credentials.

02

Assessment

A LegalCPD assessor evaluates the activity against the five published accreditation criteria. Additional information may be requested during assessment.

03

Decision

LegalCPD communicates the decision in writing within twenty working days: approve, approve with conditions, request improvements, or decline.

04

Accreditation

Approved activities receive the LegalCPD accreditation mark, a reference number, and CPD hours allocation. Accreditation is valid for twelve months.

LegalCPD is not currently accepting public applications. Accreditation is available to selected pre-approved clients only.

Who LegalCPD Serves

Enforcement Agents

Certificated enforcement agents and High Court enforcement officers seeking to evidence ongoing professional development in line with sector expectations and regulatory requirements.

Credit Professionals

Credit management professionals working in debt recovery, collections, credit risk management, and related financial services disciplines.

Legal Practitioners

Solicitors, paralegals, and legal executives working in civil litigation, debt recovery, and enforcement, including those regulated by the SRA or CILEx.

Training Providers

Organisations and individuals delivering CPD to enforcement and legal professionals who wish to have their provision independently accredited against published quality standards.

Framework

The Accreditation Framework

All accreditation decisions are assessed against five published criteria: clear learning objectives, accurate and current content, assessment of participant learning, appropriately qualified trainers, and systematic collection of participant feedback.

Eligible Activities

LegalCPD accredits a range of continuing professional development activities relevant to enforcement, credit management, and civil litigation in England and Wales. Eligible activities include structured courses, workshops, seminars, webinars, online learning modules, and blended learning programmes.

Accreditation is available to all training providers, including independent trainers, professional bodies, commercial training organisations, and in-house training departments. There is no requirement for formal membership of LegalCPD in order to apply for accreditation.

LegalCPD accreditation is a voluntary quality mark. It does not replace the requirements of any statutory regulator, professional body, or employer. Professionals should ensure that their CPD activities meet the requirements of their relevant regulatory body in addition to any LegalCPD accreditation.
